Rural Development

From Skill Development to Community Support

Through our rural development programs, we have created a sustainable model that benefits both the women in the rural areas of Wada tribal belt and the broader community. By providing training and work opportunities in making cloth bags and baby sets, we have helped these women gain financial independence. The income generated through this work contributes significantly to their household earnings, enabling them to improve their living standards and achieve greater self-reliance.

Rural Development in Action

We dedicated to creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for tribal women in rurals areas of Wada. Through our support of ‘Bachat Guts’—self-help groups operated by village women—we have enabled these women to generate additional income sources, empowering them and fostering self-development. This initiative is a crucial part of our rural development efforts, focusing on uplifting the most vulnerable members of the community.

Crafting a Better Future for Tribal Women

  • Providing livelihood opportunities to ‘Bachat Guts’ operated by village women in this tribal belt of Wada. This has generated additional income sources for these tribal women helping them in self-development.
  • We have provided necessary training and opportunities in making cloth bags and baby cloth sets for newborns to the women of three local Bachat Gut in Wada. They are getting work and making charges for these cloth items. Sets of these clothes in a cloth bag are given to the newborn's mother through Primary Health Centers of Wada Taluka as a goodwill gesture without any charges.

Promoting apiculture for enhancement of local biodiversity

  • We carried a Project under CSR funding for promoting apiculture for enhancement of agricultural and horticultural produce in the villages of Wada, Palghar. Benefits of pollination, effect on bio-diversity and most importantly food security of the region are well documented.
  • We started this project with site visits to agricultural land, farms, fruit cultivation areas and nearby water bodies. After discussing with local farmers and some of the experts, we decided to initiate our project for active farmers and women of Self-Help Groups in Gorhe village of Wada Taluka and also include farmers from nearby villages. We approached Gorhe Grampanchayat for their support.
  • A well-trained professional in Apiculture conducted workshop and training for the selected community members. A practical session of handling beekeeping boxes by following safety precautions was provided. A site visit was arranged to observe best practices and requirements of successful beekeeping. Participants were briefed about exploring opportunities to make it as source of income by marketing of by-products from honeybee keeping beyond honey.
